Vaginal Dilators

Resources courtesy the noted sources.

Information for obtaining vaginal dilators

Intimaterose set (full set, larger sizes also available on amazon), has a video with instructions for use on their website.

Visit Hopeandher.com (link opens new window). Under ‘Shop,’ you can get dilators alone or with an instruction booklet.  (We recommend the Vaginal Insert Set and eBook). Patients like the size variety and handles, plus comprehensive instructions.

Alternatively:
  • Search “graduated vaginal dilators” on Amazon.ca
  • Visit Laurel Prescriptions and find their Venus Vaginal Inserts (Vaginismus) product. (Their phone number is: 1-604-873-5511)
  • Visit any local sex store and ask for a vaginal dilator or order them online. (They’re usually made of silicone and cost ~$180 dollars.)

Instructions for Use

Insert into vagina for ~10 min at night while reading a book, when comfortable gently move dilator from side to side and slowly increase size of dilator inserted until it is 1 size larger than the penis you wish to have intercourse with.

Start vaginal intercourse when 1 size larger than partners penis for dilators. (When enjoying non penetrative sexual activity as well.)

If post menopausal, this treatment needs to be combined with vaginal estrogen to heal the vaginal tissue and allow stretch.
